Because why not?
Second Pass has been cruising along, with dragonriders now at home in the North, golds still basking down South in the sunshine, and Hold and Hall causing all kinds of mayhem as the Riders try and win them over and get Tithe out of them. Not going nearly as smoothly as one would like, but that tends to happen when you spend ten years spiriting away the youth of Hold and Hall!
We will soon be opening up a bucket load of plot-involved characters for people to pick up, so that will soon be out and flooding the world of advertising boards. Hopefully it'll be a lot of fun!

A lot of things have been happening at Katila Weyr this past month! It's been very exciting!
November 2013
Hatching
We would love to congratulate all the Player's that Impressed a PC or LPC character at the recently passed Hatching! The Hatching in full can be read here, for those that are interested!
The Have Faith clutch revealed a total of twenty-seven new dragonets, all of whom Impressed without hitch or mauling! Katila was very pleased to welcome one gold, three bronze, five brown, eight blue and ten green!

Landslide Event
The first day of December (IC month 8, 234 AL) saw a massive disaster strike the unorthodox Weyr, with the side of the mountain under which the Weyr sits toppling down in the wee hours of the morning, destroying the community with massive amounts of mud, muck and debris.
In excess of one-hundred dragonriders losing their lives - including six of the very newly Impressed - alongside hundreds of non-riders. The Weyr crippled, are further brought to their knees when their Weyrwoman Tsuen passes away from complications after assisting with evacuation of the survivors.
December 2013
Rebuilding Katila
Shifting further South, the remaining Weyrfolk set about swiftly and surely building a new Hatching Sands, for a few short days later, Aradissicath clutches! The following day, gold Krypth of Jada takes to the skies, and S'kef's brown Tyrrisath captures her, securing his Weyrleadership.
While the Weyr heal, and rebuild, S'kef makes arrangements for the long desired return to the North!

AU / Heavy Canon Setting + IC Politics + IC -isms and bigotry + Character driven
We enjoy a setting that has nothing in common with any kind of utopia; where your gender defines how you'll live your life, and your dragon's hide determines how much prestige you'll get throughout it. Where goldriders are arm adornments and women greenriders are thought of as little more than useless; female blueriders are a freak of nature! Where bronze is the ruler of the roost, and browns are upstarts and wanna-bes...
A world where murder and intrigue occur, where flightlust is not always fun or dreamy. A place where birth-rates are high, but death never far behind. Where women are little more than political pawns for their fathers, and Hold and Hall bicker over borders and wedding guests. We offer a place where education and good food are only for the privileged, while hard work and harder times are employed by everyone else. A plot where dragonriders are believed extinct, but are preparing to take the world by storm.
And rule it with an iron fist.

The member base is excited to meet you, and would love to chat! We have a relaxed, no-word count, no activity requirement set up! We love hanging out in the cbox, and would love to hang with you! We have post games OOC and a chilled and easy going community. We're friendly, bright and cheerful - not at all like the world our characters inhabit!
We strongly enforce IC/OOC lines; bigotry and narrow-mindedness is encouraged in our characters but never acceptable in the player! We enjoy a relaxed and very diverse community, and we intend to keep it that way.

Site info: Highly active, friendly staff and members, character driven, plotty and full of epic goodness xD we are rated R/323 and while we don't encourage 3 for the sake of level 3, such things do crop up and it allows for a more relaxed atmosphere about what can be written in general!

Set ten turns - and counting - after the devastating effects of the Plague, Katila Weyr is situated within a secret location of the Southern Continent, where their population has slowly been rebuilding. Second Pass is a site based around character development, in character politics and a heavy handful of in character bigotry. We are a small but friendly community who enjoy playing out a nitty and gritty Pern that is steadfast in the opinion that men have their roles, women have theirs, and those lifestyles very rarely mesh well.
We have been running actively since January 2012, with Hatchings, Feasts, Green Flights, Gold Flights, Character mayhem, and OOC shenanigans! We have 5 Hatchings planed for 2013, including up to as many gold appearances, and hopefully a good number of bronzes! We enjoy general chat, Dragon Cave, and just hanging out!

Gold Candidates:
With five clutches up coming in the next year, there will be up to as many gold making an appearance, and we'd like to see them go to the members! We're accepting all types of women for gold candidates, though we run our 'typical goldrider' differently. While greenriders are spunky and outspoken, goldriders are more demure, motherly and mate-for-life type women. The typical Fandom goldrider type character would be more inclined to Impress a green than a gold on SPW.
Gold candidates require a 200 post minimum to be considered for Impression. While this sounds like a lot, we find most members crack that within 3 months of posting (which is approximately 2 posts a day if I did the math right) as we enjoy a pretty rapid community, have no set post length, and you can be in as many threads as you (personally) are capable of handling.
Bronzeriders / Bronze Candidates:
Depending on whom catches our lovely Gold dragons in the upcoming year, we hope to see more bronze dragons make an appearance. We don't have nearly enough PC bronzes, and would love to see more on board, either through Candidate or picking up a pre-existing slot.
Like their shiny sisters, bronze candidates require a post minimum of 150-200 to be seriously considered for Impression, but we won't completely discount a good mix. Like goldriders, we're not looking for anything specific in our bronzerider candidates; we're just looking for something interesting.

Some things to note about SPW Impression:
- We Impress based on which colour will create maximum future Role Play opportunities for the Character, and the Player's preference.
- We don't have 'colour personalities' or 'sexuality' based Impressions. Never have, never will.
- Each dragon is unique, and a great deal of dedication can be seen in each of their creations.
- SPW is not a hatch-impress-die site. We've had three clutches on site - the third currently being RP'd at the moment, the middle one NPC'd.
- We Impress as required to develop characters individually, with each PC Clutch containing between 2 and 5 PCs, no more, no less. This is to maximise RP opportunities and to keep classes small and easily managed in RP.
- We will have Clutches (at large, be them PC or NPC) every 3 months guaranteed; they're really not a big deal.
- As more golds join the scene, we can expect clutches to interweave, with them levelling out to one every month. Obviously not all will be PC'd - the idea is to have a clutch available, whenever a character is ready to progress to the next stage of their life.
- It should be noted girls may only Impress gold, green and the rare blue; men will never Impress gold.
